Setting a default filter for Incident Activity Log

In the incident form activity log, the default filter is "all". I'm able to update that filter by checking and unchecking selections. However, I'd like all users to default to only show "Additional comments", and have all other selections (i.e. "open by", "email", etc) UNCHECKED.

I'm guessing this requires a new entry in "User Preferences". I'd appreciate it if someone can give me some pointers.

To create a custom formatter, perform these tasks:

1.Create a UI macro to define content for the formatter.
2.Create a formatter that refers to the UI macro.
3.Add the formatter to a form.

Thanks Anupam. This is along the path of what I'm looking for. Reading the wiki page, I need help on creating the Jelly script that will accomplish what I need. Any help there? Sorry for being a total n00b.

Create an entry in the User Preference table and leave the "User" field blank. This will create the default values for all users except those who may have already set their preferences explicitly (ie: User Field is not blank ).
