What does the "Accessibility enabled" do on the Service Portal > User Profile Page -> User preferences?
I enabled it, reloaded the page, no changes seen.
PS this option is there on the backend also.
What happens when its enabled. I need to see the changes.
Don't give me the explanation mentioned docs. Need explanation in layman terms 🙂

Hello,
Essentially "Accessibility" is an option that can be enabled to allow the user to make the system more accessible to them. Meaning, they may use a screen reader or other keyboard features on their end and this features works with them. This can be individuals with some sort of disability or need.
Examples of some changes are in the documentation here: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/quebec-platform-user-interface/page/administer/accessibility-508-... where it shows an accessibility graph version instead of the normal graph/pie chart.
You're not seeing anything different right away on the portal because it's not a "night and day" difference, it's subtle changes and only applicable to certain pieces of the SN framework.
More information can be found here as well: https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/quickref/?versions=2.0
This is all to say that ServiceNow is 508 compliant.

Hi Allen:
Thank you for providing this information. One of the big things turning on Accessibility does is activate Alt Text for images. Alt text describes the image to readers with sight limitations or folks living graphic image display turned off.
Thanks Gale
