What is the use of the "Model" change type in Zurich

Jake Sadler

In my dev instance that's been upgraded to Zurich, I have noticed a new type choice available on Change Requests called "Model" as seen below.

What is this used for? I am unable to find any documentation on it.

Hi,

This did not mention or show what this new type is used for.

Thanks

Jake

Hi @Jake Sadler

Apologies — I misread your question earlier. I tried searching through the documentation but couldn’t find this change mentioned in the Zurich release notes.

After further investigation, I found that if you need to create the Change Model, you must select Type = Model first. Then, choose the specific model in the next field (as I did below). From the Form Model, you can drive the Change Type instead of setting it directly.

In my opinion, this approach provides more flexibility for users. They can either select the model instead of directly choosing the type, or, if they don’t want to use a model, they can simply choose the type as Normal, Emergency, or Standard.

If a user selects a model, it’s better to have the type driven automatically from the model itself.
