Hi!
I have an issue regarding Metric that have been bugging me for 2 days now. So, my task is to create an attestation that will have 124 metrics (questions). These questions are grouped into 8 categories.
Yesterday, I was able to create all of the metrics and made sure I saved my work. I was pretty sure that everything was saved because whenever I preview my attestation, all of the questions are there. So here's the crazy part. I tried to copy the attestation I created because I need to create a new one which is kind of similar to the first one. To my surprise, some of the questions are missing from the copied (new) attestation and when I tried to load the original attestation, those questions are gone as well. I checked my update set and these missing questions are deleted.
I have no clue why or how they were deleted, and I thought maybe I did something stupid that caused that. So, I created the questions once again today. I made sure this time I save and publish the attestation properly but then when I demonstrated the attestation to my colleagues, some of the questions I just created today are missing again. I checked my update set and then these records are now deleted.
I checked the remaining metrics and just out of curiosity, I summed up all the metrics per category. The sum equates to 100.
Question: Is it possible that the limit of metrics per attestation is 100? I checked ServiceNow documentation and it seems it should be 1000.

Hi @MarkWendiJhonD
ServiceNow does not silently remove questions for fun – there is a hard limit on the number of questions an attestation will keep. In Yokohama the default is 1,000 questions per attestation, but administrators can lower that limit in GRC Properties. If your instance has sn_grc.assessment.max_questions set to 100 then anything beyond that will not be saved.
You can check and adjust the limit by navigating to All > Policy and Compliance > Administration > GRC Properties and looking for the property that controls the maximum number of questions. Increase it to a value higher than the 124 metrics you need.
When copying an attestation, be sure to include the categories and metric definitions – otherwise the new attestation will only contain the shell and none of your questions. If questions were created in a different update set or the attestation was in Draft when you copied it, those records will not be included.
- Publish the attestation before copying.
- Check the GRC property for maximum questions.
- Ensure Copy categories and Copy metric definitions are ticked when cloning.
- If your deleted questions exist in another update set, merge that set back into your target instance.
Following these steps should prevent questions from disappearing and allow you to keep large attestations intact.

Hi! The system property you mentioned is not available in my instance. Are you sure this actually the name of the property? Thanks!

To add, the second time I created the deleted questions, I did not make a copy of the attestation. I was sure I saved and published the attestation almost every after creating one metric.
