Backend logics for Status column in Project (pm_project) Planning Console

Hi,

I wanted to know where can I find backend logics for these handlers like column Status in Planning Console ? Apparently, it only shows status value of an project task when it doesn't have a child. But I want to amend this and add value to it. Is that even possible to do ?
