Rename OOB Now Assist summarize action?

Hey there,

Hopefully a simple one for someone to answer, how do I change the name of the OOB summarize skills?

In my region we use 'Summarise" with a s, and not "Summarize"

I could not locate any settings where this could be changed in now assist. My system language is set to en. I am hoping I am overlooking something and it's an easy change.

@Jayden4  I do not think Only Changing skill Name will do as there are UI Action/Button Also which says same.

As per me a Z or S change needs a lot of drill down and effort. It Spans across many tables also.

Even if you clone the OOTB skill and just do rename of Z to S in Upgrades and All Future release you need to Keep in mind.

Do you have a business use case of Z vs S?

The business case would be that I live in a country where it's spelt Summarise and not Summarize lol.

If you clone the skill, there's no option that I can see of updating this bespoke embedded button on the form. If it's not possible then I guess it is what it is.

You're not missing a setting - there isn't one. OOB Now Assist skill names are locked and there's no language/locale override for the label itself even if your system language is en.

The way to handle this is the Skill Kit clone approach:

  • Go to Now Assist Admin console
  • Find the Summarize skill, hit the three-dot options menu
  • Pick "Make a copy"
  • In the General details step of the new skill, you can set whatever name you want - "Summarise", "Summarise Case", whatever fits
  • Deactivate the OOB one, activate yours

It's a bit annoying for a one-letter change but that's the supported path. The upside is you also get full control over the prompt, inputs, and AI provider if you ever need to tweak behaviour later.

If you're on Yokohama or Zurich, the Now Assist Skill Kit docs cover the full flow. Pretty straightforward once you're in there.
