Seeking Advice on Configuring Now Assist to Display Current Outage Information

Good morning everyone,

I am currently working on configuring Now Assist to use information about current outages as a data source. The goal is to ensure that users can be directly informed about ongoing outages when they ask related questions.

However, I have encountered a specific notice during the configuration process that I don’t fully understand.

"This search source is unavailable for Virtual Agent responses because it is based on an unsupported table or because it is turned off in AI search. It will still be available for search results."

So far, I haven’t been able to find anything in the documentation about  cmdb_ci_outage table not been supported and AI Search is setup. At least the outages will be shown as AI Search results.

Has anyone had similar experiences or can provide helpful insights?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @gabc ,

So far did not see  Now Assist  have a specific "outage feature" built-in, but you can use outage-related information—especially if you integrate it with your CMDB’s outage data.

The "cmdb_ci_outage" table isn't directly supported as a search source for Now Assist responses. You might still get outage records in AI Search results—but they won't be responsive in chat bots or messages via Virtual Agent.

Please clarify with Now support team for the same.
Please mark helpful and correct answer if it's worthy for you.
