Add existing variable set to Catalog builder template

Hello all, Just started to use Catalog Builder & trying to create a 'Catalog item template', however when trying to add an existing variable set (vs) under 'Questions set' - it allows me to add it but when I save the template the vs disappears and I get the 'Questions unavailable' prompt. After looking around we have narrowed it down to any variable set that has a 'Container Start' variable with a layout of 2 Columns, I am not able to add that vs to the template - is this expected behavior? Does anyone have a solution?  (The variable set I wanted to add is used by many, many of our catalogue items, so not keen to create a new vs?)
I did find that if a vs has a 'Container Start' variable that has a layout of 1 column, I am able to add that vs to the template, no issues.
Any help would be appreciated 🙂

I checked with SN HI support and they advised this is a Limitation issue according to their doco link below & to raise an enhancement via Idea Portal:

According to the documentation:  https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/sandiego-servicenow-platform/page/product/service-catalog-managem...,

For a catalog item, the questions cannot be viewed and edited in the catalog builder in the following scenarios:

1. It has more than two levels of containers.
2. It has a two-column question set or two-column container within a container.
