Mid servers not showing up in instance after installation.

We have installed Mid servers in the past and it has gone fine, but yesterday we tried creating another mid server and everything seemed to go fine server side. The installer said it was successful and the mid server service is showing up in services.msc. Unfortunately when we go to look at the mid server in the UI it is not showing up.

This is a known issue that was resolved in Jakarta 10 (or Kingston and on)

After installing and starting a new Jakarta Patch 9 MID Server, the MID Server record is not created...

TL:DR - Use an old installer (patch 8c and older) to install the MID Server. The MID Server will update to the latest version once it has installed.

Hi John,

Is same machine running multiple mid servers pointing to same instance?

No, there are supposed to be two mid server instances on that server one pointing to production the other pointing to test. We were trying to move the mid server pointing to test because an implementation partner placed the mid server in a path like c:\user\desktop which is far from best practice.

We used the following to make the move
How to move the MID server to another node

It all seemed to go fine on the server side, but like I said it is not showing up in the instance. We tried to create a new mid server as well and got the same result.

I am just curious. Does the mid server build version match the instance? If not, you may need to re-install the mid server with the version that matches what you're instance is currently running

We downloaded a new mid server zip file from the instance so I would assume that would provide the most current version.
