Questions answered via type
Question 1 - If a user has a favorite on their report or dashboard, will these be migrated and auto-mapped to bookmarks?
Answer - Yes, all the dashboards favorites will still work, and will redirect no new migrated dashboards automatically
Question 2 - Is there a time frame for when we can expect to see information about the New Analytics Model ("NAM")? Is there anything we can see today?
Answer - With the Safe Harbor in place 🙂 we expect to start the rollout of NAM with the Xanadu release. The New Analytics data model will be dependent on the moving to the new DataBase, so once the customer is on Xanadu and is moved to the new DataBase - the NAM feature should be available. We do expect a lot of customers should be in the new DB for the time you uptake Xanadu. Xanadu release is expected to be available in Q3 2024
Question 3 - We would like to use platform analytics to analyze the usage of different modules and custom apps. We are not on Next UI Experience. We’re a small platform team and feel that migrating to NextUI or workspace is a huge lift and not fully supported. Any ideas to get the analytics data with UI16?
Answer - There is a basic Usage Analytics available for UI16 in the User Experience Dashboard - https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/vancouver-now-intelligence/page/administer/user-exp-analytics/con... (it should be available since Vancouver, not 100% sure if was available in earlier versions). There is also some custom usage that can be collected by using data in the navigation history table
Question 4 - Are there plans to deliver a Year-over-year visual in the Analtyics center view? (PA widgets in dashboards have this visual but the analytics center does not. we use this a lot as we look at YOY improvements)
Answer - This chart type at this moment is only available in PA Widgets (classic dashboards) - adding it in Next Experience is on our roadmap, and should be coming in one of the next releases.
Question 5 - Will there be any generic documentation/job aids available to assist in training our users on the new PAE?-
Answer - Steve we have multiple Academy sessions that we have done, and I will make sure that I link in the community event for this session. RJ talked a little about a video library that we are putting together that will be available in the Community, you can expect to see that by the beginning of 2024.

Question 6 - So if you have an existing dashboard that has a mix of reports and PA widgets that uses a single breakdown (mapped to an interactive filter), does that mean the dashboard would end up with 2 different filters showing for the same thing?
Answer - No it will not, it will work for both the Data visualization on table and indicator data but the amount of filters will not be duplicated.
Question 7 - Pertaining to the dashboard filter. After the migration, the filter will still work including the options there?
Answer - Yes, the filters will still be connected to work with the data visualizations.
As of now, we are not moving the user preferences of the previous values selected on the filters from the users.
Question 8 - If we are still on Ui16, and don't have workspaces, next UI, process mining, or next analytics enabled, sounds like we have 15-18 months to make all that happen in advance of Yokohama. Is there guidance for how to make all that happen, - risks, dependencies, etc given none of this is currently in our roadmap and we have multiple other projects mapped out over that time
Answer - I would suggest focusing first on Next UI and The new Platform Analytics migration.
All the rest could be a great addition afterward.
Question 9 - Less than 18 months to charter, find a budget and execute a project to overhaul UI (which impacts every user, all our training and knowledge documentation, etc) while executing existing projects already approved/funded, with a very small team and no vendor budget seems a difficult ask. there's no extra runway here?
Answer - You will have the option to upgrade for the W and X releases. A mandatory upgrade is not until the Y release. Platform Analytics Experience is where all new functionality has been built for the past 2 years or so, and it will continue to be where we provide new functionality going forward. You also have control over when your company implements the platform upgrade to Yokohama. We understand that this is a big change, but it is consistent with our support for N-2 releases and functionality, where N is the latest release. We want to provide as much content as possible to help in the migration when you choose to do it.
Question 10 - I had understood previously that Platform Analytics would work also without Next UI, with some limitations on functionalities and some types of reports. Was I wrong?
Answer - It will work, we are reviewing for any challenge you will have on the navigation using the CoreUI menus and the new experiences.
Question 11 - Are there any plans to restrict access to the $pa_dashboards_overview page? A user without any role can access it by manipulating the URL.
Answer - There is currently no plan, if the dashboards are not shared with them they would not be able to see any content. Any reason why you would like to block it?
Question 12 - We have a couple of dashboards that use a workbench widget. If after migration, the widget is not working and we roll back the change, how long can the rolled-back dashboard stay back in Core UI? -
Answer - The workbench will be in compatibility mode, so should work as well as before. But in case you need to roll back there is no limit of time for that.
Question 13 - I just thought of this, and it may be a bad idea, so I reserve the right to be wrong… Could we not utilize User Analytics to see views of dashboards and the flows that happen afterward to get an even better gauge of what is being used?
Answer - Yes, Indeed that can be utilized. Right now the data is getting removed after certain thresholds for User Experience Analytics, so we are checking if a longer retention is necessary.
