Assignment Group Maintenance - Responsibilities for AG Staff

Hi All,
I have a slight problem with seemingly basic ITSM topic.
We are setting a small governance team for one of our clients for group maintenance and health purposes. For now we proposed to establish one group's manager for each department (HR, IT, etc) and an analyst who will be making sure that all the good practices and overall groups good health is in place.
The problem is, since we are making some things self-sufficient (ie. making some of the group form fields like short decription, manager etc mandatory, so there is no need to check if every single group contains crucial information) we are having hard time to propose some responsibilities for that team. For now the only thing I came up with is periodicaly checking on groups and users activity in order to decide if some groups can be retired but that's it.
Can you give me some ideas on what else the team should do to keep an eye on AGs good health and mainenance? Any reports should be exported? Any other actions taken?

We encountered similar problem in our organisation and to put in the correct guardrails, we leveraged the Data Certification module for groups and group members data.
This will shift the responsibility to Groups managers and they will be needed to certify the groups parameters via a data certification task.

Thank you for such a quick response!
This is indeed very helpful and may be a good way to use in order to perform such checks.
However, the thing I'm looking for is not what to use for that periodical checks, but what those guys will need to check actually. What should they look into to keep the assignment groups in good shape etc.
I may use the Data Certification module though once I get the idea on what they should be doing! 😉
