Element Filter/Interactive filter values doesnt show up for other users

Hi,
I have created a dashboard, created a interactive filter and element filter on the dahsboard. I have added few reports and shared with some users but the filter is not showing any data for other users without admin role. Below is the error.
I have given sam_user role and the users have the role but still filter is not working. Does the users need to have access to user table in order to see the data?

A user at least needs at least access to the data you are showing. So if you want them to be able to select a user (can't make that up from your screenshot), they will need access to the user table.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the reply, but isn't it same like selecting Requested for on a Service Catalog. Giving readonly access to User table might impact licenses, is the only thing iam thinking of.

If you share dashboards with users, they can see the dashboard and reports (if shared as well), but if there's no access to the data, it won't show up.

I had similar issue and to fix this went to the breakdown source record in your case "software owner" and in the related list look for the element security list and check if there is any record if Yes, you need to set another allow list for your set of users.
For example check what specific role they and then have and set it up should work for you then.
