PA Breakdown Visibility

Hi All,

 

When we create any 'automated breakdown', by default it is visible to all roles. 

 

My question is:

 

1. Is it good practise to limit breakdown to specific roles?

2. If yes, I have come up with the conclusion to assign 'PA Viewer' role to breakdown. 

(PA Viewer: This role allows users to view Performance Analytics widgets and dashboards, including breakdowns.)

The only time you want to limit breakdowns to specific roles is if the breakdown data is sensitive.  In all my years of working with PA, I've never come across that use case though.

 

If yes, I have come up with the conclusion to assign 'PA Viewer' role to breakdown. 
No.  PA Viewer has nothing to do with question 1.  
Read this docs page on PA roles.  It tells you that pa_viewer is for ....

  • View Analytics Hub .
  • Create personal thresholds and targets for indicators.
  • Read, Update, and Delete thresholds and targets that they created.
  • View text analytics widgets on dashboards.
