Report on number of stories that were ready for development

I am not sure how to report on the following:

 

Scenario: Today is a day in June and I want to be able to report on the number of stories that were in the 'Ready for Development' state in the months of May, April, March, February, January, December....

 

For example, there were 85 stories ready for development in May, however, there were only 60 that were ready for development in April. I want to plot those numbers on a line graph.

 

How can I do that?

 

Currently, I am using Created on last 12 months but I am not getting the result.
