Hi Guys,
I got a licesing doubt, I want to use the dashboards feature available in Perfomance Analytics, but I'm not going to use the data from Performance Analytics.
What I want to do is group some reports (today we use homepages for it but isn't working for us) into a dashboard and create tabs to organize those reports.
Ex: Dashboard Operation, Tab1 Health of our servers, Aging of our incidents and so on
So our main doubt is the dashboard feature is related to pa_viewer role, do we have to subscribe the Performace Analytics module?
PS. We don't have the PA subscription.
Thanks,
Bruno

Yes, as Josh pointed out, starting with Istanbul release you can use Dashboards without a license for Performance Analytics.
From the release notes Dashboards Release Notes :
In red it confirms that no Performance Analytics license is needed anymore.
The orange underlined text explains that you still need a Performance Analytics role to add Performance Analytics widgets and widgets that hold Interactive Filters, a paid for feature that comes with a Performance Analytics license.
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Pieter

My advice - don't do it! The minute you give a user a role that you don't own a license for, you're expecting to get billed.

It'd be a good idea to check with your sales representative on this for confirmation, but there is some good news. Starting in Istanbul, dashboards were expanded to everyone, not just PA, with the intent to eventually replace Homepages. They changed a lot of the PA Role permissions based on this, i.e. PA Admin no longer has rights to modify all dashboards, because of the reasoning that dashboards won't always be involved with PA data. Individual users choose other individual users or groups that can read or edit the dashboards they create.
However, I'd still verify that they're not bundling this functionality with Performance Analytics (similar to Interactive Filters), but if it's not tied to a role specifically anymore, I don't see that they could, other than disallowing access to dashboard functionality altogether by plugin, and that would handicap the base included PA Lite functionality for Incident.

We've checked before with our Sales Representative but the answer was 'You have to pay', I think he just checked the Helsink enviroment.
Thanks Peter! We are using Helsink and planning the update to Istambul, I've updrade our test enviroment and it worked we found some bugs related to the upgrade but these news are great!
Regards,
Bruno
