Can I use PA collected Records as a Report Source?

I have Several PA Indicators set up to collect daily incident data, including  "Incidents created by our Service Desk". I am wondering if there is a way to use the Indicator Records as a source for reporting? Because individuals leave the department periodically, it is difficult to report on the incidents historically.

Since I have an indicator collecting the data daily that I need, I was hoping I could report off of it.

Thank you,

I do not completely understand what you mean by your questions "if there is a way to use the Indicator Records as a source for reporting?".

Basically you can create a report from any table in NOW so the answer is yes, you can create a report from the Incident table.

A Report Source, as you might already be aware, is another object in NOW.  You can create a Report Source containing Incident records that you can then use as an Indicator Source, but if all your records are already in the Incident table then why would you need a Report Source?

I can run reports on the incident table. The issue is that over time, users leave their position and that skews my data. For instance if an employee works in an assignment group for 1 year, and I run a report on those incidents for the entire department. I will not see that users incidents, because he/she no longer works there.

My Indicator is collecting data daily. In the indicator scorecard there is a tab of "records". I would like to report on these records, and be able to apply criteria for them.

The way this indicator is set is:

Created by > Manager > Is > "Manager name".

If I run this in reporting for a period of time longer than a week, I am missing data because someone has left this team, and no longer reports to this manager. But the indicator has collected this data, and that data does not change. So I would like to report on the indicator data.

My only other alternative is to create a report with the same criteria:

Created by > Manager > Is > "Manager name"

AND

Created by > "User who left the team" > Between > "dates user worked on the team.

For 2 years of data, I would need to manually add 57 users, and their start and end dates working on that team.

Ahh....you basically want a snapshot of the record.

Just to clarify, the records table in the scorecard is getting the data from the process tables as well; so you have the same problem.  Recall that the Snapshots table only stores the Sys_IDs.

Now, the count of Incidents by the Assignment Group breakdown does not change; like you said the data is already captured in the PA tables.  So that data should still be accurate.

Are you then running the report to get a listing of the Incidents?

Because you have the issue with the data changing even on the State field.  The intent of PA is to trend data over time to assess and improve performance of the process.  You are quite often going to have differences between PA and Reporting.

Again, it would be helpful to know what you are reporting on that is not already available via PA.

Thanks!
