Hi All,
Can anybody help me to understand the main difference between Homepage and dashboard?
I know Homepage is the first page people see when they login to service now and it is visible as per the roles assigned.
And dashboard form the entry point for Performance Analytic users. A dashboard shows widgets for the most relevant indicators for specific users or groups.
People/client wants to use dashboard in place of homepage. If we have dashboard then why still some client want us to create the homepage and assigned it to user as per the role?

Okay, so let me get this straight. You'd rather use dashboards...
I've now built a dashboard that displays several lists that I need to keep track of all the time. Now these lists don't update, I have to manually refresh the browser tab...
For the homepages there is the possibility to set an interval by reloading the page automatically. How do I do that with a dashboard?

Auto-refreshing is not recommended for normal usage. But if you are trying it, use an auto-refreshing extension for your browser such as Revolver for Chrome.

I completely agree. I use SN to manage our ticket queues. The dashboards are useless to me. I experimented with them when we upgraded previously. The lack of refresh means my ticket queues are always stale and I miss the new critical tickets. The squinty boxes don't display my whole queue so I have to constantly scroll up and down to see the whole list. We just upgraded to the latest version which apparently doesn't have the Homepages anymore and I don't seem to be able to update multiple tickets at once. There must be a way to do that and I simply haven't found it yet. Shoot me.

We are currently building an SLA to have a response time on the INCs.
If you know which task has to be answered next and you don't have to look at Impact and Urgency all the time, then you don't need to see the whole list of tasks.
The response time is calculated from priority and the last contact/comment...
Then it is not so relevant to see your whole list and the dashboard is more fun 🙂

Hey BK - Most of our customers are moving to the Workspace UI, in which your Landing Page can have a collection of metrics/lists. This would likely work for your purposes.
You can have those lists auto-refresh, as seen in the top answer in this article.
