Domain Separation can't see global reports in child domains?

I am running Geneva, Patch 5.

I am trying to modify the "overview" homepage for incidents.

I use the domain Picker in the banner to set my domain and application to "Global" - I create a report in the Reports => Create New module.   I save the report as a gauge.

I go to the "incident => Overview" module and go to add my gauge to the overview homepage - everything is working fine.

I change my domain in the domain picker to the next level down (child domain).   I am still logged in as admin.   The gauge is blank on the home page - when I attempt to edit the content with the pencil icon it tells me the "report does not exist" (not that there is no data - it says the report does not exist) - when I go back to the global icon it is there.

I don't see how to modify the report to expand domain visibility - there is no visible field for this and there is not an option to modify the form.

I am at a loss on this since for everything else, if something is created in the global it is visible to the child domains.   Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thank you!

Are you child domain contained by global, or are they contained by TOP? While some global items are visible in child domain, others are not because usually TOP is the MSP domain, and child domains are contained in TOP or another process domain. To test this, make your changes in TOP, and see if they are visible in child domains.

Michael - I tested it, you are correct.   I had forgotten that TOP is listed as not having a parent.   Now to figure out if I can move my reports in bulk or if I have to re-create them one at a time.   Thank you again - this one had me stumped, I was missing the answer completely!

Michael - I looked at it more today and I am still struggling with the problem - when I moved the reports to the "TOP" domain they are now visible to me when I am top - but If I move down one level to the top customer domain it is still not visible.   I have one gauge that works in all domains and I can't figure out what is different about that one - I am clearly looking at something through the wrong lens, but I don't know what.   I can't figure out what debugging to turn on to get useful information.   This is really causing me great confusion.

In my domains - TOP is type MSP and has no parent. it contains my top level customer domain and my first level customer domain is of type customer and has a parent of TOP.

Is something configured wrong - we are getting close to go live and this problem really has me stumped and I need the overview consoles to work before we go live - thank you in advance for any time you can spare me!

Your TOP sounds find, as that's how I'd set it up. Is Primary checked also?

Here's a wiki of domain setup, Section 7 has nice diagram: Domain Separation for MSPs - ServiceNow Wiki

Is it possible that you have that one gauge that works is in both global and TOP? Rename it in global to name2, and see if TOP changes.
