Is it possible to share a dashboard with a role and suppress the invite email

Would like to create a Dashboard to replace the Change Overview portal page link (Under the Change Application Menu).   Need to share the Dashboard with the ITIL role, but don't want to send an invite email to the 600+ users that have the ITIL role.

Any way to suppress the email that triggers after clicking the invite button on the Sharing function from the Dashboard or some other way to Share the Dashboard without triggering 600+ emails?

Hi Michael,

Seems like it is not possible to stop notifications as mentioned in docs:

https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/istanbul-performance-analytics-and-reporting/page/use/dashboards/task/t_ControlAccessToADashboard.html

The dashboard is shared with and an invitation is sent out to the invited users.

Note: It is not possible to disable the email notification.

Thanks
Shruti

Hi Shruti,

Thanks for the reply.  I read that in the Kingston docs as well but was hoping there was a scripted solution in place to suppress the email.

We just want to give access to the new Change Overview Dashboard via link under the Change application.  Not sending an email would be preferred in this situation.

Sending the email leads to chaos and confusion.  We get several replies when these invite emails are sent and the Help Desk gets tickets generated from concerned users that think the email is some kind of virus.

Do you happen to know if there is an open Enhancement Request to make sending of the invite email optional?

I dont see any enhancement about it yet, but you can create one. The only thing I can think of disable email when you are doing it and do it off hours. Clean up the email queue before enabling it. I dont think this is a good idea though 😞

Thanks
Shruti

I just opened an Enhancement Request (FTASK35925).

Thanks,
