PA Widget Incidents created on this day last year?

I have been asked to create widget that shows the number of incidents opened on this day last year.   I'm trying figure out the how? I wanted to ask here just to see if I can kinda get a starting point. 

current date - 365  would give me the current date. Would that be a report or an actual PA widget.

1) Select time series on the widget

2) Check "Previous period chart"

3) Select the range and number of periods

4) Set the time series if applicable (in this case, I have a daily indicator but I want to show the month comparison year over year)

Before we go into a solution mode, have you asked what the purpose of this report will be? I assume that this is not just a one time thing, but maybe more a comparison between incidents created last year vs. this year?

In our company, many have noticed that the support and process volume comes in waves. in particular spring / fall and a mid winter and summer months.  What they want to see is a comparison same day a year ago.
