Is anyone else having issues using the Platform Analytics Migration tool after upgrading to Washington?
Some of the issue that I have found;
- Existing breakdown source field is not being followed. The way these breakdown sources are being migrated the new filters are not showing the same elements as the pre-migration breakdowns. Some of fields are no longer able to be chosen in the filter configuration so these breakdowns are being ignored all together.
- Column visualisations that have been migrated from an existing PA Widget. The indicator list order is not being kept and the order needs to be reset. Straight migrations are not picking this up very well and all orders need to be adjusted after migration.
- Single score format values are not being migrating with the same specs as those that are contained within the indicator. These need adjustment.
Some other general issues that I have found and more a nuisance more than anything else;
- It seems you cannot migrate an existing report directly to the new Platform Analytics Data Visualisation list. These reports do not seem to be saved directly to the Data Visualisation list and need to be recreated to be consumed within Platform Analytics. This mainly affects reports not listed in a dashboard.
- In general, the change of names from 'Report' to 'Data Visualisation' is confusing for the users. It's long been called a 'Report'. To search for something else is confusing.
- Cascading Filters were previously neatly packaged and now these are separated. I know they can be linked however these were previously neatly packaged and easily consumed and navigated.
- Personally losing the Existing Breakdown source drop list from the top of a PA Dashboard is a backward step. Consumers of the dashboard lose the ability to select a Category (breakdown source) from a list and then select the element. Now all the categories are spread across the page separately and look overwhelming.
I've attached a direct comparison of an existing PA Dashboard vs a Migrated Platform Analytics Dashboard

Hi @Lisa71 ,
We are looking if additional partial migration capabilities need to be added for Reports, PA widgets, and filters.
Regarding the navigation, since Washington we have given more visibility to the Platform Analytics Workspace/Experience from the left side menu, it also makes it easier to search for the menu and sections underneath.
The navigation has also changed from Washington, the drilldown now goes to Core UI list and forms instead of Next experience/Workspace list and forms, the main reason was that the Next Experience list and forms were not yet supporting the default views and some feature gaps that are critical for smooth operations and analyses.
If you have your own workspace, the drilldown can be configured back to Next experience list and forms. From the generic Platform Analytics experience it is defaulted to be to Core UI lists and forms.
We are working with the List and Forms team to understand the best way forward int he future releases and give a better choice of redirection to all customers.
Thanks

Where can you configure it to go back to the Next Experience lists/forms? I have some clients that are hesitant in migrating, just because of this reason.

@Mark Manders It cannot be configured for Platform Analytics Workspace/Experience.
It can be configured from the Dashboard component if is embedded in their specific Workspace.
The configuration on the dashboard component would be to avoid default redirection and configure the events in UI Builder to which Next Experience List/form page to redirect inside that custom workspace.

Then I hope some solution will be created before Zurich, because this will cause a lot of disappointed clients. They are finally using workspaces, but now they can't use dashboards anymore, because the data visualizations move them to the old backend.
There are many users on Workspaces that are using the separate dashboards to get to additional tasks they are responsible for. They now need to work in 2 UI's.

Hi @martapenzo
Does that mean the (old) report builder will be still available in Zurich or do we have to place all reports (which we want to migrate to Platform Analytics) on a dashboard, to make sure they are still available in Zurich release.
And I have another question:
The option to jump from a list view with a right mouse click to a bar or pie chart (--> attachment) will this be in also available for Data Visualisations?
