Scheduled Email - Dashboard Snap Shot

Jaydeep Bahulek
Giga Expert

Hello,

I have a dashboard created with 2/3 widgets and wanted to take a snap shot everyday and schedule via email body (not an attachment) with larger audience.

Is there any possibility to achieve the same?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
JD

Hi @alexpaynesays can you please share a docs link to know more about "A Scheduled Email Dashboard Snapshot".  I have searched and can not find anything (and google keeps referring to this discuss thread!)

Adding a 2026 update since this thread still comes up in search and the "accepted solution" above doesn't actually answer the question.

DJL2's reply from 2019 is still the most accurate: ServiceNow doesn't natively support scheduling a visual snapshot of a dashboard as an email — the Explore Analytics scheduled export sends individual indicators, not a rendered screenshot of the dashboard as your stakeholders see it.

What's changed since 2019: the Platform Analytics scheduled PowerPoint/PNG export was added in later releases, but as of early 2026 it has a known bug where scheduled exports silently fail to send (there's a known error PDF floating around the community confirming this with no committed fix date).

The workaround that's worked for us in production: capture the dashboard from outside ServiceNow entirely — a scheduled headless browser logs in, opens the PA dashboard, waits for widgets to load, and screenshots exactly what's on screen. Output goes to email as an inline image digest, or to a shared folder/wiki. Survives PA UI redesigns as long as you target widgets by visible title rather than generated IDs.
