Single Score report drilldown not functioning as expected

I have a single score report in a small widget on a dashboard.  The behavior I want when a user clicks on the number is to produce a list view of the report output with specific columns I've defined for all users. 

I have created a drilldown view on the report but when it's clicked the list view only appears in the tiny widget box.  When it appears in the tiny widget box, the correct columns I've assigned in the drilldown appear, but it's not readable for users who can't modify the widget size on a dashboard, so I really need it to open in a new tab, or at least fill the entire frame.

Our admins do not want to modify the global setting that controls whether or not drilldowns open in a new tab; the suggestion is that we hold cntrl when clicking the link to have it open in a new tab. 

When I use this workaround and hold down cntrl it doesn't use my defined drilldown, it just uses whatever columns I last had set up with the gear icon.  So each user would see an individual view instead of the drilldown I've defined.

I'm not sure why the report drilldown works differently when opening in another tab than it does from within the widget, but I can't have a dashboard with huge widgets for the drilldown, that's why the single score is so nice.

I am running on Kingston.  I do have report_admin role but I do not have admin. 

Any suggestions?

which version are you on? We had this issue but now it seems to be working - so I'm thinking it may have been resolved with Kingston

Just an update for anyone who might read this later... issue was never resolved and we have opened a request for enhancement to SN for the drilldown view to persistent when opened in a new tab or window.
