Sorting order of Columns of Multi-level Pivot Report

I've set up a report trying to replicate something that is currently being completed manually in Excel.

It is a standard multi-level pivot run from the Time Card table, with the following choices:

However the columns I am sorting by are displaying out of order (not chronologically):

I've checked where the user inputs the date the week starts on (in case it was a string) but it pulls from a date picker so that shouldn't be the issue? 

I've also tried removing the sort field and there is no difference, likewise if I reverse the sort.

Any suggestions?

I'm actually trying to figure out the same thing. The only sort options are ascending/descending. I have a pivot where I need to display workflow tasks in chronological sequence.

I know, it's been 6months but I'm still unable to find a way to group dates which you can do easily in 3 clicks on Excel.

Without grouping we are unable to transfer most of our business reports over to the SNow platform so we are now having to pull in the results as a list report, export it to excel and then set up the pivot table there before finally grouping the date fields... Seems a backwards step.

I'm sure it's not just us that want/need to display information chronologically.

I think the issue is that you have week starts between in your filter condition.  If you choose something else, like week starts on "last 3 months", and sort week a-z, then it seems to line up correctly.
