ServiceNow Software Asset Management on the Now Platform Xanadu release
ServiceNow® Software Asset Management offers a cohesive platform for technical teams to optimize technology spend, mitigate risk, and automate software lifecycle processes. This solution grants users the ability to exert precise control over their software and cloud expenditures, offering immediate insight into unlicensed installations, options for reclaiming licenses, and actionable software positions organized by publishers. This facilitates a proactive strategy for managing software and cloud costs, allowing for prompt decision-making or the automation of cost-saving measures to strengthen financial budgets.
In the Now Platform® Xanadu release, there are two key features for ServiceNow Software Asset Management:
- Software inventory analytics
- SAP Digital Access license management
Software inventory analytics
Software asset managers implementing SAM often struggle with limited visibility to CMDB information to analyze software inventory issue before diving into software license compliance. This can prolong the implementation process and delay customers from deriving value. Software inventory analytics helps reduce time to value with Day 0 software inventory and end-of-life reporting. SAM managers can examine issues pertaining to discovery, normalization, end-of-life, and version sprawl then address them using integrated workflow.
SAP Digital Access license management
SAP Digital Access is a licensing model introduced by SAP for indirect usage. This includes the creation of pre-defined document types from non-SAP applications. SAP Digital Access license management brings updates to the SAP ABAP Store app to gather digital access document creation numbers from SAP client/systems via SAP Passport or Estimation report. Customers can better manage licensing with updated content data to identify each document product and the ability to create entitlements. This improved support ensures accurate license usage tracking, compliance, and under/over utilization with the reconciliation process.
The Now Platform® Xanadu release introduces two new dashboards that help SAM managers have more visibility and control over their software inventory and licenses. Software inventory analytics allow users to anticipate risk with workflows to remediate end-of-life software. Alongside this, SAP Digital Access license management brings increased SAP Digital Access licensing support with new license metrics and updated content data, which users can access with a dashboard view to ensure compliance.
