Hi there again, I have a question regarding Overriding Licence Costs. I have a set of discovered software that all have software models but those models are not available in the classic view of the overriding software cost, in the SAM Workspace the overriding cost tab has no new/edit button. Is this because there is no entitlement linked to that software model? If this is unexpected then what might be the reason as they all had discovery maps, discovery models and software models, normalised and linked together.
If this is the case, then how do I add a cost to the software so the ELP to show the cost to be compliant?

Hi @andynewey,
correct, SAM Pro assumes that overwriting the costs refers to linked entitlements and you want to use general price over all and not the average. I would be interested to know whether manual adjustments to the costs also work without entitlements and deliver the correct result. Is there any reason not to add entitlements for licensable software you want to track?

"Is there any reason not to add entitlements for licensable software you want to track?" The simple answer is that we have no entitlement (long story). So how do I apply a cost to software that does not have entitlement so that our ELP shows the cost to make us compliant?

SOLVED - I found a post explaining to create entitlement with ZERO purchased rights and the cost. This method should add the cost to the ELP.
