We want to implement Microsoft Office Desktop license tracking. The client wants to bill the various departments internally.
They don't have a SAM module, only IT Asset Management provided with ITSM license.
So, the idea is to create Software Entitlements and manually attach the devices. When a computer is no longer using that Office license, the "alm_entitlement_asset" relationship record is deleted.
One last question remains:
Is it possible to maintain a history of license allocations even if the PC is no longer associated with that license, has been destroyed, etc.? The customer's main objective is to be able to bill based on the actual number of days used. This history will be injected to the billing tool.
