Aternity API for Software Discovery

Hello Community,

We recently conducted a proof of concept for ACC using a few pilot devices, and the results are promising, especially since it's out-of-the-box. However, we've been advised to explore additional sources. ☹️

Has anyone explored the Aternity API for software discovery and usage? From what I've gathered, it seems to have several drawbacks, primarily due to the extensive customization required to ensure accurate data. I'm also concerned about the overall quality of the data.

I want to prove nothing can beat ACC-V OOTB Discovery Tool for SAM Pro. 😀

I would appreciate your thoughts on this!

Hi @NeenaPatel,

A truly unfortunate situation. Perhaps you can avoid a test implementation by asking direct questions.

• What concerns does the requester have about the data quality of the ACC?
• Is there data that he is missing?
• Is there any benefit for the other tool we can fulfill with ACC and adjustment of the pattern

You have already mentioned that this integration almost exclusively consists of customizing. Perhaps you can turn the whole discussion in your favor by pointing out the effort and necessary adjustments. If any special data point is missing, it's easier to adjust ACC or create a import set for this.

Thank you for your reply @dreinhardt . With the PoC and the Business Case I have written for ACC-V I have persuaded our senior leadership to invest in ACC-V. Fingers Cross I should hopefully I have some good news in a month or two.
