Hi Community,
We are just starting our SAM Pro journey and trying to connect the dots between Software Installs, Discovery Maps, Software Models and so on and we have just enabled the property to create software models automatically for all licensed products.
I was reviewing a subset of data (Acrobat Pro) this morning in the Software Installs table and noticed two different software models. All fine as the version found was slightly different.
I then ran reconciliation and noticed that all records were then normalised but the software model is now empty for all the installs records for Acrobat Pro. I was expecting those that were "empty" would be populated due to our system property.
Would anyone be able to explain why the software model has been removed and what steps I should follow next?
Only thing that I can think is I need to create a software model myself then run recon again?
Thanks,
James

Hi
I dont think we delete any software model that was precreated. You can read the mechanics of how this works here:

One thing to note, This is generally recommended for more mature customers, as it may create a number of software model.

I think something weird happened when I ran reconciliation the first time. When I ran it again it was all fine and the software models were associated again. I have seen a youtube video where they also had to run recon twice. Odd but at least I will look out for this next time.
