Building out connected APM/SAM instance and best practices

We are an institution of Higher Education that recently implemented APM and SAM - so we are very much in the beginning stages of this endeavor.  I understand that the two products can either be installed independently or connected (i.e., setup in a way that shares certain tables and metadata where applicable).

It makes sense for us to build out APM and SAM in as much of a connected way as possible but cannot find much documentation in the way of best practices.  At the moment we're muddling our way through this and making a certain degree of progress but don't want to run the risk of missing opportunities and/or having to redo steps as a result of not having direction or guidance.

So if anyone has experience in this area and is willing to share or can point me to any documentation, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This is what ServiceNow partners like my company, NewRocket, can provide.

Hello - additional information on APM and alignment of products can be found on SPM community site.  There is a dedicated section For APM.  https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_forum&sys_id=7d291a2ddbd897c068c1fb651f9619da

Since New Rocket, won't give anything away for free:-).  See Ken's post above ^^^^^^. Here's the data model that shows where the marriage is in the data between APM and SAMP

Thanks Scott for the visual - that does help in terms of knowing what specific table both products hinge upon.  The graphic does cut off the key to the left - I don't suppose you could share the entire image or provide a link?

As our organization continues on this journey of implementing APM and SAM, it does look more and more that there is a fair level of complexity in setting up both and connecting them that may require us to reach out to consultants for guidance.

Thanks
