Core Infrastructure DC & Std Suite consumption

We are licensed for Core Infrastructure DC Suite and Core Infrastructure Std Suite and we have created the software models using the PPN nos. 9GS-00134 & 9GA-00312 respectively which takes the product as "Core Infrastructure Suite". But the software installations that we are getting in our environment are "Windows Server" with different versions and editions. As CIS is a suite, these software installations should tie to the Software model that we have created for CIS but in the license position report we see that CIS Software models are not showing any used rights. Can anyone help to understand how to tie these together, does the Microsoft pack of Servicenow not take care of this?

Hi Santoshini,

we are facing the same issue. Since the Software Model got created from the PPN within the Entitlement this won´t match any discovery models.

But since it is a suite, if you have opt in to the Content Library , you should see Suite Components in the Software Model .

It might come back with Windows Server as a Component as well as System Center.

The inference percent is set to 75 which means that only if both components are installed it is taken this on the license workbench into account

Hope this helps

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, we have opted into the Content Library and we see System center and Windows Server in the suite components. But we do not have both of them installed. As per your comments, where can we see the inference percent

Hi Santoshini,

the inference percent should be right above the suite components and set to 75.

If you change that to 50 it should recognize all the Windows Server installs and ignore the System Center. But please check if it gets overwritten and set to 75 from the content library. In this case i would open a HI ticket for the content team. We have a similar issue. Our System Center is called Configuration Manager so it does not match as well.

Santoshini, support in the Microsoft publisher pack for the CIS bundle which is comprised of the Windows Server product and the System Center Suite is available from New York Patch 5.
