Hi, I am trying to find documentation on how to create a custom Dashboard in SAM (Utah). What role is required and also how do I go about creating a dashboard that is application specific.
What are the steps required to create a Dashboard that shows results fior a specific software product or Publisher (ie to show compliance/deployment etc.) for a specific software product?
This is for products and Publishers which do not have default OOB Dashboards included as part of SAMPro.
I would like to be able to share this dashboard with the colleague responsible for managing that software to aid their decision making.

Hi @Karen54,
My team utilizes several custom SAM dashboards to track various stats. I would recommend starting in the Report module (I believe report_user and report_publisher may be the required roles?) and creating a few different reports that you would like to utilize on a dashboard. For compliance specifically, try reporting on Source Type: Table > Table: samp_license_position_report. It should show you number of in use licenses against entitlement count. You can easily add a filter from there for specific vendors. From there, try making a few reports on your model or entitlements table and experiment with different visualizations and filters. Once you create a few, you can create a dashboard and add your reports as widgets. You can also create multiple tabs on your dashboard to house different groups of reports. When sharing these out, make sure that:
1. The dashboard is shared with the correct people
2. EACH report is shared with the correct people
3. The users have access to the tables you are reporting on (if they don't have SAM access, they won't be able to see them)
I couldn't find any specific documentation on SAM-related dashboards, but these report and dashboard guides should help get you started.

@Karen54 There is a OOTB dashboard (Software Asset Analytics) where you can see the results based on a product as well.
So is there any specific reason you are going with custom dashboard?
