Discovery Software Model Normalization

Hi ,

I populated data in the cmdb_sam_sw_install table via discovery for domain  A.

As discovery models were not available initially they were auto-created in A domain via the "create software Normalization Business rule ". At last, normalization happens in the "cmdb_sam_sw_discovery_model" table where fields like publishers get populated from another domain. Can someone please explain this? or have an idea which script is responsible for normalizing these values.

Thanks ,

Ragavi

Hi @Ragavi,

Hope you are doing well.

Proposed Solution

There are some "SAM Normalization Scheduled Jobs" that are responsible for the Normalization Exercise of "Software Discovery Models" that gets executed on a daily or weekly basis.

Some SAM Normalization Scheduled Jobs are as follows: -

  1. Run normalization job daily - Daily
  2. SAM - Find Normalization Suggestions - Weekly
  3. SAM - Normalize discovery models using content library rules - Daily

If you find this information/knowledge/solution helpful, please don't forget to mark my solution and reply as helpful and accepted.

Thanks ‌‌:)
