Excluding mobile app installs from license workbench ( Intune and SCCM discovery )

Hello !

We currently have SCCM and SG-Intune as discovery sources for SAM which picks up software installs on mobile devices. This causing our workbench to be inundated with software that we do not need to manage, it is also impacting our compliance .

Is there a way to exclude certain software from the workbench / compliance by device type or OS type ? Do we need to create a software model for it and then

For example : Minecraft is being picked up through our Intune discovery source and appears as a unlicensed install under our Microsoft publisher.

Currently the only way I'm aware of removing this is to create a new software model for that product and then unflag the license under management option. This will remove it from the workbench after reconciliation

Is this the correct method ?  Would this need to be done manually for each mobile install we do not want to manage ?

HI @User510857 ,

I'm afraid that there is no better solution to solve your problem, except to continue creating software models . The reason why all these licensable elements appears, is the product type linked to the discovery model based on the content library.

A workaround could be to the product type, the normalization status of the discovery model is updated to Manually Normalized and the reconciliation process only considers software discovery models that are licensable. This ends up in a permanent job, due to weekly content updates.

 I agree with Dennis.

Not sure if this is relevant, but there is a field called "Exclude for SAM" in the computer table. Would only work if all software installed on that specific device need not be reconciled.

Would you please provide the table name?
