Filtration criteria from importing Adobe models and entitlements from legacy ITAM tool into SAM pro

What filtration criteria should we set for importing Adobe from legacy ITAM tool for Adobe into ServiceNow, especially considering that the data and entitlements in the legacy tool could be 10-20 years old?

We don't need any past data that is not worth measuring

One of the criteria is that on-prem licenses that are not assigned to anyone which were procured more than 2 years ago (or something along those lines) should not be brought into ServiceNow

What are some other filtration criteria's?

Hi @iamkurt,

you have summarized it quite well yourself. The filter mentioned above already limits the scope of entitlements quite well. Depending on the desired transparency of the purchase history, you could also ignore all expired subscriptions.

For on-premises and, if applicable, maintenance renewals, you just need to agree whether you want to show all maintenance + base license from the last x years or make a cut at a certain point, e.g., 2023 and then show the last valid maintenance license as “perpetual + maintenance”.

@dreinhardt- Thanks. How should I treat models that are very old but assigned to some asset? For ex - Acrobat 6.0 Standard whihc is really old?

Hi @iamkurt,

you've to discuss this with the product owner if this old product is still in use or not and based on this you can skip or have to process it.

Thanks Dennis @dreinhardt - I have asked a follow up question not sure why its taking time to reflect here : we were told by our ITAM team that some Adobe perpetual licenses are converted to subscription licenses for 2 years, in the legacy system. Would you please advise how I treat such licenses while importing to ServiceNow SAM Pro?
