Could someone advise on the following
When an asset is marked as retired and the data is wiped, how does Service Now know that the asset is no longer "In Use" so that the software can be removed.
Discovery will look for a device and we can see what is installed, but when a device is retired as it wont be on the network again the software is still sitting in Licence Workbench.
Is there any process with Service Now that can identify these devices in the Workbench, so we can reclaim those licences ?

Is the "Hardware Status" field on the corresponding CI record updated to 'Retired'? OOB the statuses between the CI and Asset are synced, but some organizations prefer to disable the business rules that do this in the background.

They will be set to Retired or NON Operational on the CI - so potentially its a business rule that is not in place that then removes the software at that point
