[Important/Urgent] SAM FOUNDATION - REMEDIATION WORKING

Hi folks,

I have a requirement where I need to implement the remediation options that come out-of-the-box with SAM Foundation.

Has anyone worked on SAM Foundation or implemented it for any client or customer, and used remediation options when a reconciliation runs on a publisher?

Note: In my case, whenever reconciliation runs, it is picking Purchase Rights by default. I’m not sure how this is being populated or calculated, regardless of the scenario...

Let me know, please...

Hi @kaushal_snow

May it’s helps you

  • SAM Foundation remediation options OOTB: Re-harvest unused rights, reclaim from inactive users/devices, purchase rights, or remove installations.
  • Why you only see “Purchase Rights”: It’s the default when no reclaim/re-harvest is possible. This happens if you don’t have reclamation rules or software usage data in place.
  • Fix: Enable/define reclamation rules and ensure software usage data is available. Then reconciliation will suggest more options than just “Purchase Rights.”

Remediation rules automatically identify and create removal candidates which are used to resolve SW non-compliance issues.
