I am seeing inconsistent reconciliation results, in this case Adobe software. I have a pair of installs for Adobe Systems Character Animator CC 2023.
One install shows Minimum Viable Software Model = Adobe Systems Character Animator CC while the other is EMPTY.
The SW Install with Minimum Viable Software Model is EMPTY is reconciling against Adobe Systems Creative Cloud All Apps Pro (which is appropriate due to Suite Component relationships to Entitlements.) On the other hand, for some reason the SW Install where Minimum Viable Software Model populated is reconciling against Adobe Systems Character Animator CC (which does not have an entitlement.)
I don't understand why two SW Installs for the same software are reconciling differently? Both users have licenses allocated for Adobe Systems Creative Cloud All Apps Pro and should be valid. Yet only one of them is reconciling properly.
Any ideas how this happens and how to manage it better or to force proper reconciliation?

Hi @Brigham,
Discovery Model Record: I can see, that the "automatically matched" checkbox is disabled. By default, SAMP set this to true during the recon. Looks like you've force to consume the correct software model by update the link, correct?
Could you please remove the current software model link, run a recon and let us know if the flag is set to active.
Software Model Record: I can see, that you've set a "inference percentage" (please let us know the number/percent). Could you please check the device missing the correct software model link, that the installed Adobe software matches the percentage? E.g., 30 Suite Models, Percentage 25 -> 8 of 30 apps must be installed (and correct detected) so be recognized as CC All Apps Pro.
Best, Dennis

could you please share a screenshot of the discovery models (in detail) linked to each record?
What are the suite components of your CC All Apps Pro software model?

It is the same Discovery model for both installs. Which is why I am so confused. Our entitlement relates to the SW Model 'Adobe Systems Creative Cloud CC All Apps Pro' which has the attached Suite Components which include 'Adobe Systems Character Animator' which has Version and Edition IS ANYTHING. If I look at the Related Discovery Models for 'Adobe Systems Character Animator' I do see 'Adobe Character Animator 2023 23.6' listed.
So as far as I can see the relationships and path from SW Install > Discovery Model > SW Model > Entitlement is fine, and seems to work for one of the two SW installs under this Discovery Model.

Hello Dennis,
Inference Percent was changed from 0 to 75 by System (automatically) when the Discovery Map was updated by Content Library back in 2022.
Also I am not following your comments above regarding my setting Discovery Model.Software Model manually. Normalization for Adobe has historically been bad with such marvelous things as Adobe Systems Acrobat DC 2023 being normalized (and SW Model set to) Adobe Systems Acrobat where Version Starts with 2.
So indeed I did a bunch of manual selection and normalization of Discovery Models because historically reconciliation was not doing well for Adobe. With that said, the value I set manually is the correct SW Model for that Discovery Model for Adobe Systems Character Animator. Considering that one of the two installs related to this particular Discovery Model is working fine, the issue cannot be the Discovery Model.
I did set the Inference Percent on my Adobe Systems Creative Cloud All Apps Pro back to 0 and reran reconciliation successfully for Adobe and it looks like Character Animator and others reconciled properly now.
Thanks for calling that out. I remember setting it to 0 ages ago but obviously missed that it got reverted at some point by the Content Library.
