We are migrating Adobe publisher from a non-ServiceNow system to ServiceNow SAM Pro.
It means we want to be able to track all our Adobe software products , software models , license consumption and compliance in ServiceNow SAM pro. Currently, they are using another non-ServiceNow ITAM system for that. We are migrating Adobe publisher from non-ServiceNow ITAM system to ServiceNow SAM pro, which includes Adobe software products, models, licenses and allocations.
I am creating a data migration strategy document for this.
Would anyone please advise what should I include in this document? Basically, all the content that should go into it?

Hi @entcenginee,
I would suggest the following steps:
- Enable the SAM Pro Adobe publisher pack (Software Asset Management publisher pack for Adobe)
- Setup the SaaS integration to the Adobe portal, this will create all software models covered by the Adobe SaaS integration (Integrating with Adobe Cloud)
- Entitlement on-boarding based on Publisher Part Numbers (PPN). You should discuss how many historical data of your history you need to include, since only the active entitlements are required for the license balance and this can save some effort.
- Track On-Premise software installation and usage data with a supported inventory tool (ServiceNow Agent ACC-V, SCCM, Tanium, ...)
- Allocations in general not required to calculate the license balance, but can be used to confirm the use of the license. For SaaS users, the user subscription data is imported into SAMP and visibile for each software model. However, allocation data can be linked manually per software entitlement or imported as imported set for bulk allocation (no OOTB solution available, custom import requiered)
Hope this will help you.
Best, Dennis

Thanks @dreinhardt 😀 - we have already done 1st 2 steps, now onto the 3rd step.

Regarding this point, would you please tell me in detail how can I accomplish tracking on-prem software installation? Our Adobe models are discovered by "SG-SCCM", last I checked.

Hi @entcenginee,
tracking of on-prem by SCCM is already completed. To enable the next step of software usage metering, please check the following docs about the SCCM usage metering spoke. The enablement of usage tracking with SCCM must be configured by the SCCM admins (see last link)
- SCCM Usage Metering Spoke
- Components installed with the Microsoft SCCM software usage plugin
- Microsoft SCCM software usage
- Monitor app usage with software metering - Configuration Manager | Microsoft Learn
