Folks,
We are implementing SAM pro afresh.
Our Org bought and implemented SAMpro couple of years back along with discovery and other 3rd party tools. But recently they found they are not getting the ROI on the investment due to improper implementation by the previous team or whatever the reasons.
They asked now to start afresh, they stopped ingesting data from all the tools and start entering data that is critical and important. Once they find the application is stable , they want to start the Discovery and other applications.
Thanks for reading the intro patiently, here is the issue
I have removed all the software entitlement data and cross checked with subscription data, but it is not matching. SAM pro is showing over allocated.
I read the docs and found Entitlement removal and user allocation are distinct processes within ServiceNow's SAM and Subscription Management.
Here I need help, how to make them in Sync. Please guide me in solving this problem.
Regards,
Srinivas

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for your reply. But I just want to know how to resolve the issue. What should I have to do to subside the overallocation.

Srinivas

You'll need to review these tables to understand what resources are consuming subscription units.
cmdb_sam_sw_install (Every 1 Server, Every 4 EUC Devices (e.g. Laptops & Mobile phones) = 1 Subscription unit)
samp_sso_subscription (Every 15 unique users = 1 Subscription unit)
IaaS and PaaS storage can also impact numbers but I would start with the above first.
Usual quick wins to cut down numbers is either;
1. Stop pulling in Mobile Devices from sources like JAMF and Intune.
2. Disable SaaS features
3. Turn off Infrastructure Software Discovery
4. Buy more subscription units

Hi Dbook,
As per one of your suggesions do we need to go record by record in the below pic (INTUNE license ) and validate the licence? If it has to be revoked do we need to create a software reclamation ticket? and with proper approval we need to removed it. If it is correct how to do this in bulk way as it will take lot of time to process all the these records?
Sorry for my vague question.
Regards,
Srinivas
