Hello, I am trying to enter in the new entitlement for Snagit 2024, and while my organization is still new to SAM, this has not been an issue in the past. I create the entitlement, enter the PPN according to our invoice, Service Now populates the form and creates the Software Model and matching DMAP on save. However, after saving, the PPN field goes blank. This has not occurred with any other Snagit products, or otherwise. Is there a reason why this doesn't populate, is this anything to be concerned with?

Hi @dgros,
I would advise you first check the samp_sw_product_definition table to see if the PPN you are trying to use exists. Since it is a relatively new version of Snagit, ServiceNow may not have created a definition for the new PPN. In this case, you may need to create a Custom Part Number on the samp_custom_sw_product_definition table. **Doing so will require that you choose an appropriate discovery map (dmap). If you are opted in to SAM Content Service, then ServiceNow will eventually review your custom PPN and add it to their official library for future use.
Check out this link for some more details: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/vancouver-it-asset-management/page/product/software-asset-managem...
I hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply! So since posting this, I've found that it is occurring no matter what product I'm working with. With Snagit 24, I am using the PPN that is populated in Snow which corresponds with PPN from the vendor so that's definitely correct. Now, as it was so new, there have been no discovered software models yet so I'm wondering if that may be a part of the issue. Yesterday I was trying to custom add a different product for which we did not yet have company, model, PPN or DMAP and as soon as I hit "new" for related entitlements on that software model, it duplicated all of the information on the model.
I will review the link you shared and see what I can learn there!

We asked the content team to add this a while back. In our samp_sw_product_definition we have three entries SN01G-N-24, SN1999C-X-24 & SN2000C-X-24. All Perpetual + Maintainance, and Per User License Metric. Are you using one of these ? If not, it really doesn't matter (PPN on entitlements is just a quick way of populating the Publisher, Product etc) as reconciliation looks at Publisher, Product, Version, Edition. As long as you have the correct DMAP, Reconciliation should work just fine
