Reclamation candidate not generated

Anu Sarma

Hi all,

We have created a reclamation rule to create reclamation candidate if that software is not used by the user in last one month. The rule was created 2 weeks back, we do not see any candidates generated yet.. I assume candidates would be generated after 1 month from date of creation of rule only.. Is my understanding correct?

If not, what might be the probable causes for candidates not being generated?

Thanks in advance,

Anu

Hello Anu,

If not confirmed already, you will need to ensure that usage metering has been turned on (in SCCM) for the product you are planning to reclaim.

All the best,

Stephanie

Hello Anu,

The baseline job that processes to create Reclamation Candidates (SAM - Identifying New Reclamation Candid) runs by default only monthly on the 3rd of the month.  This is to allow time for "monthly" data to be accumulated in SCCM and brought into ServiceNow through the Service Graph SCCM integration or the older SCCM Plugin if your organization has not yet migrated. The default execution for the Usage Data Source is monthly on the 2nd of each month.

The replies from both @Sandeep Dutta and Stephanie have merit. The job must indeed be running and the data must be collected from SCCM.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Daniel, but it is possible to modify the script to run on days other than the 3rd of the month, right?
