Resource Value in SAM application

Hello @SrinivasRamanu1

I am looking to understand the purpose of Resource value in SAMP in relation to custom metrics? I see the value can be added manually in "Unit consumed" field but does this value reconciles to show usage for product related to custom metric in license position report? If so, where is it reflected?

I am curious if there was a way to manually add usage/consumption for any custom metrics (without scripts) we add for unsupported metrics.

Thanks,

Parul Chaudhary

Thanks @dreinhardt for detailed information. It seems I was missing changing the table source on my custom metric and as soon as I changed it to Resource value, it worked.

Thanks for your quick response! I appreciate your help.

Hi @Parul Chaudhary,

please check the following SN docs article about Resource Values - Specify resource values for your custom license metrics (servicenow.com).

You've to create a custom metric with the type "Resource Value", Assign the metric to your entitlement and link the entitlement with your software model. Last step is to create a resource value object and assign it to your software model in scope. The reconciliation takes care about the link between custom metric and resource value based on the type and will show the entered value as consumption.
