Hello SAM community,
We have recently implemented SAM and we are getting installed software information from our hardware endpoint (server, Macs and Windows).
Our goal is to detect if there is software that is on the devices that we are not whitelisted for but we don't want to keep a whitelist of the ever changing software that comes with the OS. Is there a way to filter the list of Software discovery model to omit OS default software example: notepad, clock, calculator...
Thanks in Advance.

Hi @JPing
it's not possible, because this kind of detail is not tracked by SAMP. I would recommend to add a custom field for all of your "OS default software" on software product level. This field can be used to filter/group the discovery models after all models are normalized.
Could you please share more details about the inventory source add these apps to your sw installs? I did a quick check with ACC, Discovery and SCCM and was unable to find the mentioned ones.
Best, Dennis
