Hi all,
I was wondering if the "start date" or "end date" on the entitlement form impacts reconciliation.
By default, "start date" and "end date" are only shown when the license type is "subscription" or "maintenance," but I am planning on changing the client script so that the two dates are constantly displayed (and available as optional fields).
Are there any impacts on reconciliation if these values change, or if the values are entered when they are not originally supposed to (e.g., perpetual license)?

Hi,
you have already state the explanation. The date fields on the entitlement define how long a license is valid, e.g. subscription period. In addition, a daily SAM job processes all entitlements with start and end dates and activates or retires the respective licenses. Thus, even a perpetual license where a person entered an end date becomes "retired" once the date is reached.
Recommendation is to apply the OOB rules for the activation of certain fields on the entitlement form.
