Community,
Howdy! Trying to figure out for CIS Datacenter, why there is a number showing for 'Licensed required by' but no number is shown under the 'Installs' tab.
Any insights? See screenshot attached/below.

Hi @Noelinho1
I only get empty lists like this when I follow an old link to a reconciliation result. Can you confirm that you are in the most up-to-date reconciliation result?
The second reason may be that no CIS installations are actually detected because the suite conditions are not met, but someone has manually entered a license usage via allocations.
Best, Dennis

Hi @dreinhardt thanks for your note.
I wasn't using a link. I set the conditions on the SW Product Model and then ran a reconcil. The above screen shot is what I got after the reconcil.
PS: Before the reconcil, I was seeing installs but had a few that were consuming which were not supposed to.

UPDATE:
I removed all conditions under SW Product Install and SW Product Model and re-ran the reconcil. Here's the information I am seeing now - i.e. I can see the 'Licensed Required by' and 'Installs' - the numbers need some fine tuning, so that dev instances aren't counted, etc.
I'm thinking that the way I built my conditions might be the issue....
QUESTION: Is it effective to put in conditions on the SW Product Model or SW Product Install? And which one do you decide to use when you want to exclude certain attributes from having to be counted towards licensing?
Thanks again community.

Hi @Noelinho1,
of course software model install conditions or "Product License Exception Rules" (docs) are my preferred options.
To ensure your software model install conditions working as expected please check the following:
- If you want to exclude a subset of installs: duplicate your software model, set a condition name and your install condition, uncheck the "license under management" flag, to ensure the recon does not touch all matching installs linked to this model. Before processing the balance, the recon excludes all LuM = False installs. The software model does not appear in the workspace anymore
