Hello,
When implementing SAMPro, ServiceNow suggested that we not enable automatic software creation for licensable products due to the potential volume. Is there any way to allow the system to automatically create software models, but perhaps by a specific publisher?
To refresh your memories, the parameter is Software Asset => Administration => Properties.
Thanks, Lisa

Hi @LisaDG ,
You can't restrict automatic software model creation by some specific publisher.
Once this property is enabled, automated jobs will search for existing software models for corresponding discovery models, and if an existing software model is not found, the system will automatically create one.
Here is a good post you can refer: https://www.servicenow.com/community/sam-articles/automatic-software-model-creation-on-servicenow-sa...

Hi @debendudas ,
Working with several customers and huge amount of devices and software, and having at least the first option for licensed models enabled and we do not see any impact to SAMP or the platform performance.
The new model creation is limited to publisher/product or publisher/product/edition by default and it won’t create a model for every discovery model combination.
you should enable it in your DEV and check the impact to your daily business..
The only way is to customize the script (if not protected) to create only models for publishers in scope.
Best, Dennis
