Scanner to populate serial numbers for the assets

We would like to enhance the ServiceNow asset creation/update process by implementing a scanner.

Current Process: When the desktop support team orders assets, they create POs in ServiceNow. Once the order is completed and devices are delivered on-site, the desktop support team marks the POs as "Received." This action auto-creates asset records, but without serial numbers.

Proposed Solution: we have been asked implementing a scanner to automatically update records in ServiceNow with serial numbers upon receipt.

do we have the possibility to do in ServiceNow? please suggest.

Hi @Suresh Kumar Ta

receiving assets via a scanner is a standard use case which can be performed OOTB with the Mobile App: https://www.servicenow.com/docs/csh?topicname=now-mobile-asset.html&version=latest
