ServiceNow and ADDM Discovery to CMDB

Hi there,

We are migrating the CMDB from BMC ITSM to ServiceNow.

The ServiceNow Discovery has not been purchased and therefore, ServiceNow discovery is not a tool that can be used to sync with the ServiceNow CMDB.

We currently have Application Discovery & Dependency Mapping (ADDM) upgraded to Version 12.1

What is required to sync ServiceNow with ADDM? Is this possible without the Service Discovery plugin component? .

Do we require to have the Service Discovery plugin in order to sync "Any" tools to the ServiceNow CMDB?

or can other scanning tools ONLY be sync'd with ServiceNow if the Service Discovery tool is purchased, installed and sync'd.

Hope my question is clear. Open to any comments and suggestions that you may have

Thank you

Reshma

You don't need Discovery to populate the CMDB with other systems (but Integration Hub might be a good consideration if not included).

Thanks joshvanharn for your response,

I need ADDM to Sync to the CMDB, without the use of IntegrationHub. Is that possible?

You can, yes. I think a (set of) imports using JDBC/ODBC to pull the 'raw' ADDM data is possible (similarly to the SCCM integration), and then process those (ideally calling the IRE to allow you to use the CDMB management/reporting solutions.

But you'll need a good data design, and some serious development time.

It also looks like BMC has something worth reviewing.
