Smartsheet direct integration

Hello all!

I was told that this is a great community, and there are several helpful members.  So here goes.

Has anyone successfully completed a direct integration for Smartsheet in the SAM workspace?

The person (or company) that assisted with our integration did not do a great job, and currently I am the person that deals with SAM at my company.

We have a particular PPN which i requested the content team add to the content service, and they have added it.  However, that PPN that correlates to a specific DMAP is not associating as a software model.

I was told to ask Smartsheet about an "event" table by a service now engineer, but Smartsheet says they don't have an event table.  I also know that it is recommended to use the event reporting feature in Smartsheet, but to complete a basic direct integration, you do not absolutely need it.

I am researching via Google and have read all the documentation regarding how to directly integrate Smartsheet, but so far no luck.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

Hey Mark,

This seems overly complicated, We use Smartsheet and have 2 product models, the free version and the paid version. We followed the basic install instructions here:https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/zurich-it-asset-management/page/product/software-asset-manage.... Make sure when you set up the API token you gave it the admin role. Also if you have using a third party to purchase Smartsheet this may not work. Hope this helps!

Hey @Todd Burnett,

We are in the process of setting up the Smartsheet integration at one of our customers. In your post above when you mention "Make sure when you set up the API token you gave it the admin role".
Is there a way to ensure that you're giving the API token the admin role?
It's not myself that is doing the work from the Smartsheet side and we're wondering if this may be the reason we have a connection error.

Cheers,
Cairns
